How To Use Telnet with Netscape™

[ Telnet for AOL ]

First get the Telnet application as described earlier

While in Netscape™, go to the "Apps (Applications)" setup screen

Versions 3.x and earlier

  • Click on "Options"
  • Select "General Preferences"
  • Click on "Apps" (or "Applications") tab
     

Versions 4.x (Netscape Communicator™)

  • Click on "Edit"
  • Select "Preferences"
  • Click on the "+" next to "Navigator" to expand the drop down list
  • Click on "Applications"
  • Scroll the applications list box on the right to find and select "URL:Telnet Protocol"
  • Click on "Edit"
  • Specify your preferred telnet application
  • Select "Browse" next to "Telnet Application"
  • Locate telnet application
  • Click on executable file (It will become highlighted.)
  • elect "Open"
  • Click on "OK" back at the "Apps" (or "Applications") setup screen .
